CCM Kids Send Letters to U.S. Marines
CCM's 5th & 6th Grade kids recently sent our U.S. Marines care packages. Below is the delightful email response by U.S.M.C. Sgt. David Randolf:
The gift bags were truly the greatest surprise my Marines have received out here. The letters written by the children of the Calvary Chapel Montebello Sunday school touched the Marines on a personal level that was truly overwhelming. I have attached some photographs for all of you to view. I was a little skeptical when I had read the letter about the Bounty fresh towels. Boy was I wrong. Your creativity was definitely appreciated. As you can see from the photographs, the Bounty fabric softeners were a favorite amongst the Marines. Watching them open the gift bags and seeing the smiles on their faces when they caught that whiff of home was absolutely priceless. Most of them just sat there, sniffing the bags with a blank stare and a smile on their face. They looked like children at Christmas. I, along with the Marines of RCT-5 (Regimental Combat Team 5) cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. I can guarantee that all of the items in the gift bags will be enjoyed and consumed quickly. Of course with the high demand of our particular MOS, (Military Occupational Specialty) all of the Marines could not be here at one time to receive the gift bags. I have set aside the remaining gift bags for the rest of our crew to recover upon their return to Al Asad. Thank you. You are a one of a kind friend and I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Take care of yourself and send everyone my best.
Your Friend,
David
